Hi everyone and welcome to the Somatic Coaching Academy podcast. We are on episode 95 today and we are on faculty lounge with our friend Lynn Bonner.
Brian
Super excited here to be with Lynn Bonner. Hey, Lynn, how are you doing?
Lynn
Hi. I’m good. How is everyone?
Ani
So good to see you.
Brian
Love, love, love spending time with Lynn Bonner.
Ani
Yeah. And Hi, Brian.
Brian
Hey. Oh, yeah, you’re here too.
Lynn
Yeah, that’s right.
Brian
I was so excited about Lynn.
Ani
We haven’t done a faculty lunch in kind of a while. It’s fun to have a little team time today. Yeah.
Brian
And so we wanted to take an opportunity in this podcast to introduce everyone officially to Lynn Bonner, who’s actually been on the team for quite a while.
Ani
Yeah.
Brian
And does some really amazing and important work here at the Somatic Coaching Academy.
Ani
And she is the first person who you are going to meet before you get on program. So we wanted to give you a chance to get to know her a little bit before you have a call with her and see what she’s all about.
Lynn
Right.
Brian
And she is known around here as the Amazing Lynn Bonner. Just want to let you know. So, Lynn, that’s how you are known in our kitchen as the Amazing Lynn Bonner.
Lynn
Thank you. Now I’m going to cry on camera. Now you got.
Brian
So, Lynn, we wanted to just kind of kick off a little bit today and take us, take us back in time a little bit. And you know, we’ve known each other. We met about five or six years ago. Actually. About five years ago. I think it was 2020.
Ani
Was it?
Brian
Yeah.
Ani
Do you remember, Lynn? It was kind of a long time ago.
Lynn
It was a really long time ago. And when you put numbers on it, I’m like, wow. Wow.
Ani
Was it, Was it pre Covid or post Covid?
Brian
It was kind of. It was kind of during. I think it was. I think it was during COVID 2020 – 2021 year.
Ani
Yeah. So we were involved with a mastermind program. Was that the first time that you met us was when we were in the mastermind program?
Lynn
It was. It was.
Ani
I thought so. So we were on faculty in a mastermind program that Lynn was a part of. Okay, I gotta be honest with you. So what was like your first impression? We’re not going to take anything personally.
Lynn
I was already in love. The topic, the energy, the way you guys show up. I was already like.
Ani
All right. It was love at first sight, so that’s cool.
Brian
Well, I think I was actually your mindset coach in that program, Lynn. And I was just like, it was love at first sight here too. I was like, this just is such a cool human being that I get to spend some time with and kind of consult and work with. I was super grateful and excited to work with you, I think from day one.
Ani
So it’s a mutual admiration society here. So we did some work together in that Mastermind and then you came and got certified with us. And I’m really curious to know more about what that process was like for you in deciding to come and do more work at the Academy.
Lynn
It was obvious to me like it was a no brainer in terms of the opportunity to take what I’d already been learned with the both of you in the Mastermind. But then having to spend the time with Brian almost weekly, I feel like it was pretty often there. And then moving into SCA was more around how do I deepen that knowledge? How do I learn how to do the magic that Brian was doing? How do I learn how to do more of the magic that you both were presenting to everyone in the Mastermind? Because I could see the growth, I could see the aha’s, all the epiphanies, not just for me, but all the people that were around us at the same time. So naturally, as being a coach and in leadership, I’m like, how do I learn how to do that to help others?
Ani
So tell us a little bit about what your life looked like right before you joined the certification program. Because you had some pretty dramatic changes pretty soon after joining the certification program. But what was, what did your life look like before?
Lynn
Chaotic. So before that it was relationships and, and all the things that come with that. It was. I was in corporate executive leadership, gigantic team of like 70 people. That was… Love all my people. But the amount of time it takes to keep everyone moving in the same direction and working with leadership and like all the things and health stuff was happening because that’s a lot of stress and you’re in kind of outside of my normal energy is a little more chill and laid back. But in corporate it’s go, go, go. And so chaotic is probably the best word for how I started in terms of help me nervous system regulation, what want really versus all of the expectations of this is what you do. And I was definitely in should land. This is what I should do, this is what I should do, this is what I should do. And that was in all aspects.
Ani
Did you feel like you needed permission or was there like a missing piece in terms of knowledge you needed about yourself to let go of some of those shoulds and get clear on what you wanted and step into it?
Lynn
Both. It was definitely a permission slip of you get to be you and whatever that means, you get to be you, but then also the tools to do so. Because I was 35, 37 years into the shoulds, and suddenly it’s like a light at the end of the tunnel. It’s like, you know, you could go that way if you wanted to. And that’s got all the things around it in terms of what’s over there. What does that mean? What does that change? Who do I become in that process? And of course, the nerd in me is like, go for it. But of course, the human in me is like, let’s just go one at a time. Let’s just do this bit by bit. Yeah, yeah.
Brian
You know what occurred to me? If I could just loop back to it for a second, Lynn, which I think is something you said that was really, really important. I just want to highlight. Is that for you, part of the change, really the… Like, an important part of that change, was first to be able to regulate and relax your nervous system. Can you just speak to that a little bit more?
Lynn
Yeah, absolutely. So starting off, there wasn’t really any regulation. It was just moment to moment. High stress. When I say high stress. High stress. The moment I could calm down is actually when I could see forward, if that makes any sense. Like, the moment that I could take a break. It’s like, wait a minute. This doesn’t feel right in my body. This actually is why I’m having all of these health issues. This actually is why I don’t feel happy and fulfilled. But it wasn’t until I recognized that there is a nervous system and that I should pay attention to it and that it is a really good guide for making decisions. It was like, in that moment, it was like, oh, yeah, I need to know more about this because this feels good. Like, in my body, this feels good. In my mind, it’s making sense. Like, it just clicked.
Brian
Was there a moment… Was there a moment during your certification journey with us here at the Somatic Coaching Academy where you realized just how jacked up your nervous system was?
Lynn
It probably was in… So I got heads up in level one. So the first class, it was like, oh, this is interesting. And then when I got to level two, probably about a month in, is when it was just like, oh, I think something just split. And I can point back to all the things that started to shift around me in terms of how I. How I was now showing up, how I responded instead of reacted, how I made plans instead of being kind of pulled along the way. It probably was about not even a whole month into level two.
Ani
Yeah, I think that’s a really important distinction there because sometimes when people want to study with us, they’re really interested in getting in, getting it done, and getting it out. And it’s not really our philosophy here. We do a deep and high touch programs, and it does take some time. It takes some time to decompress the system. It also takes some time to have the awarenesses to be able to be the person who can do the work, not just learn the skills, but to be the person who can do the work. And that’s something that, I mean, we see it with the students all the time. I remember seeing it with you too, Lynn. It’s like an unpacking of a package where, you know, three quarters of the way through level three, you and your cohort were really, like, relaxing into being the people who could do the work. And that’s a different experience. I’m actually wondering what that was like for you, that changeover from, like, I’m learning skills to I’m becoming somebody. Did you experience that?
Lynn
Absolutely. Level two was awareness. Like, it was that onion unfolding. Like, it was like, oh, this is something. You’re right. By the time we got to, like, probably the middle of level three is when it was a completely different version of me. And I hate to say it that way, but it was very much a corporate and a life full of shoulds, and here’s all the things we should do. And then somewhere in the midst of level three, life changed. It was like, well, here’s what I want to do. And that’s probably going to tick off a lot of people, but I think it’s time. Because I’m unhappy. Everyone else is happy, but I am not happy. I’m not aligned with what I feel like my mission and my goal is, which we did the soul’s agenda in level three. Like, we got to put words to a feeling that we really couldn’t. I couldn’t. I’ll say myself before. Put a word to it, right. Which starts to help define what goals are, what your mission is, what you want to do with your time left on earth. Like, all of that really happened in level three and beyond.
Lynn
Because even now, I’m still implementing those tools. I’m still working with team members around it. And each time I use a tool, I get a different insight. Because when someone’s going through it, you see it differently.
Ani
Yeah.
Lynn
So I feel like it’s an ongoing experience, not just locked into class. You get it throughout your life.
Ani
Right. And it’s not just about being in class with this program. It’s about all the things that happen. Would you speak a little bit to… Maybe I’ll use a few words. The support that you get. So we talk about how this is a high touch cohort, and I think that it’s easy to kind of think we can conceptualize what that means. But what does it really look and feel like? Because you made a lot of changes in your life over the course of being in the program. You had relationship changes, you moved, you quit your job. I mean, that basically covers everything.
Brian
You got Tiggy, your dog.
Ani
So what does it look and feel like in that way that I’m asking you to articulate something that’s hard to describe, the support that you felt.
Lynn
Yeah. That support came from all angles. It came from the two of you. It came from the cohort. It came from the faculty that had a role in terms of helping you process the emotion. I mean, that’s a lot of emotion that you are unpacking. That’s a lot of shoulds and a lot of opportunity to see life differently. And that shift mentally is one thing, but filling it in your body is a lot. And so the wraparound, if you will, is like, we’re going to come to class, but then you’ve got the opportunity to connect with people outside of class. You have in class. We actually have a ton of breakout sessions. So not only to practice, but in the practice, you got to release. And so you or someone from the faculty would kind of show up and again, help us process not just the steps, but how it is impacting you. How it is impacting your other cohort…Your other colleagues in the cohort. Better way to say it. And so it just. I don’t know. Community, collective. Like, I don’t know which word it is, but ultimately, you have the access to everyone.
Lynn
So it’s not just in class, you could talk to people outside of that. You had office hours. So again, you had an opportunity to process it out loud. Oh, my gosh. Just so much. So many. It’s so many different ways that we’re beyond the doors of here’s your time in class. That really helped us grow.
Ani
I like how you said all angles because it really is this kind of comprehensive thing, you know, And I’m hearing you talk about your own, like, a lot, about your own personal development through the program, which again, I feel like, is a really important part of the program that can be hard to articulate. Everybody goes through their own personal journey as well as learning the skills. Can you speak to the impact of having those parallel tracks of your own personal process and learning skills that you can use with others?
Lynn
Sure, I’ll try. I think it’s a… From the perspective of going through it and learning it, you now have a perspective when you’re helping someone else go through that same change. There’s a level of patience and integration that you’re just like your experience is not my experience, but I can hold space with knowledge of knowing how hard it may be for you to be making these integrated changes. And I think that perspective is really key for people to know because you may not think about it. Right. We’re all running fast, so we don’t necessarily think about that part. So I think that’s one impact of it. The pleasure of seeing people make decisions from their heart space, is super key. I’m heady. I’ve been heady for 30 something years of my life. And then suddenly after this program, I’m a lot more hearty. Right. I’m a lot more like, what does that feel like? Am I happy about that decision? Because if it’s going to lead to the shoulds and drudgery, I’m like, I’m entering the second part of this journey. I would rather it be fun. And so when I’m talking to clients, I’m like, how does that feel to you?
Lynn
Like that decision that you’re making? I’m using all the tools that you’ve taught us. But I’m also checking in with how does that feel? Right. How does that resonate with you? Because this is their opportunity to make decisions from a place of heart where most of us live, you know, in our heads. And so a couple of ways that I’m using it and loving it.
Ani
Yeah, really well articulated, Lynn. It’s so perfect to be able to hear your experience articulated like that, because it can be these hard to describe kinds of things that the students experience. And I think, I think you’re speaking to it really well.
Brian
Yeah. So before we kind of shift, start talking about the program advisory calls that you do with folks. Lynn, I have one last question for you just around your own experience. So if you think about before going through this Somatic Coaching Academy certification and in where you are now, is there a difference or what’s the difference with just your degree of ease with life, I guess, is like my question, you know, a lot of times we see people before they come in, the programs know, as you mentioned, their nervous systems are jacked up, they’re tense, they’re living from their shoulds, you know, all that kind of stuff. And then after the program, there’s a difference. What would you say for you, is there a noticeable difference between just your level of being easeful in life or being present in life kind of before and after?
Lynn
Absolutely. I think before it was… I mean, I hate to say drudgery, but it was drudgery. It’s like, what’s the thing I must do? This is what’s the things I get to do. And it’s a different view. It’s ease. Before, it was very resistant because a part of me is like, I don’t want to do that, but this is the thing we have to do today. Whereas this is more ease. It’s more of I get to set a schedule, I get to have conversations that I want to have. I get to work with people that I actually enjoy, and I get to see impact. Whereas before, it’s like, how many ketchup and mustards really matter in the world, where this is like, someone is now showing up very differently in their family, they’re showing up differently in their career. And so there’s way more ease, which leads to impact, which leads to my agenda word of bliss. Like, I enjoy that. It doesn’t have to be some gigantic thing. It can be small every single day. And so, yeah, ease, flow, love it.
Ani
I loved watching this word bliss, as you’ve, like, bloomed into it, because I remember when you first found your word, when we were doing the soul’s agenda portion of the program, I couldn’t completely see it. And a lot of times with people, I’m like, that’s the word! And with you, I was like, okay, willing to, like, tell me more about what that means, because I don’t completely, but I’ve been able to watch you bloom into it. And I’m like, I get the word now. And it’s really seeing you and your authenticity. It’s super fun.
Brian
Yeah, really. So, Lynn, you do the program advisory calls here, and we’re so grateful for you doing these things with people that are investigating, looking at, exploring, getting information on the programs here at the Somatic Coaching Academy. So my very first question before we dig into some of the nitty gritty in those calls and some of the questions that are asked in those calls is why do you love doing these calls with people?
Lynn
I love the connection, and I love having the opportunity to help them choose the next step. So it’s more of a open conversation. What do you want? Like what matters to you? What will be your impact? Is this the right program to help you reach that goal? Like, that is heartfelt conversation, and I enjoy that. I enjoy that. So thank you.
Ani
And this is what we want people to experience on these calls. Because sometimes you get on a call like that and it feels very pressurized or it feels too informational and not enough heart, like all of those things. And it really is so important to us as a company that the right people are matched in this program. And hearing you describe why you love the calls is exactly why you’re in that spot, because that’s the exact right match to make sure that just the right people are coming into the program so that people can have the results they want.
Brian
Yeah. So maybe we can just really quickly just talk about the program advisory call. So when Lynn is connected with someone who’s calling, like, how do they get connected? Why is someone talking to Lynn?
Ani
The first thing that happens almost all the time is that people talk to our customer service person first to make sure that a call with Lynn is the right thing. Because sometimes people really just need to be directed to something on the website or they have very quick questions. So the first thing is you’ll have a call with a customer support person to make sure that a call with Lynn is the next best step.
Brian
Right. So let’s give a shout out to Lila.
Ani
Yep.
Brian
So you have the Lila and Lynn combination, so if you have a call with Lila, and then if the next step is Lynn, then’s the next step.
Ani
Yeah. Then they move on to the call with Lynn. We want to make sure that we’re not wasting anybody’s time. Lynn’s time, Lila’s time, our time, your time as the prospective student. And so we’ve found that that’s the most effective and efficient way to help people get connected with Lynn.
Brian
Okay, Right. So that’s when they’re talking with Lynn.
Ani
Yeah.
Brian
So Lynn, kind of like what happens in these calls? Can you kind of just give us an inside sneak peek? Kind of like what typically happens in these calls?
Lynn
So there’s a couple of questions that I ask. I won’t go through all the questions here, but there’s kind of a series of questions that we’re really just trying to dig into why it’s of interest. What will be the impact, like some of the things I just mentioned. And then we map out your journey. So based on what you think your impact will be, how you’re feeling about the roles, what experience you have. If you’ve got body experience already, that’s key. So the yoga, the certified yoga instructors for 25 years or none, like me coming out of executive leadership. So that’s important for us to take into account when we’re mapping out what your journey looks like and thinking about the timing of that journey and all the life stuff that’s happening. So we just kind of map out where you start, when it could end, and what kind of generally speaking, what kind of goals may be of interest to you as you move along the program and then get you signed up.
Brian
Yeah.
Lynn
Cool.
Brian
So you’re looking at people’s experience. You’re helping them kind of sort through some of those things. Maybe you’re kind of looking at people’s, not only their professional experience, but just kind of like their life situation, like kind of what’s going on there. You’re answering some of those kinds of questions, it sounds like to help them really kind of map out a learning journey and what that would look like at the Somatic Coaching Academy.
Ani
I think as I’m listening to us describe it, I take for granted how important that is because it can be really confusing and potentially daunting to do a program like this. Not just because of the length or the monetary investment or the energetic investment and all of that stuff, but it’s going to require us to become new. And so it’s kind of, you know, it can feel like a lot. And we want to help people to be able to make a clear decision and be able to map that out in a way that meets them really well. And that’s what Lynn’s doing on those calls.
Brian
That’s really great. Really great. So, Lynn, what are some of the most frequent questions that you get on those calls?
Lynn
There’s a couple. What do I get out of the program? And I’m like a ton. I’m gonna go down the mini list of things. How long is the program from start to finish? So we kind of map… Goes back to mapping the journey a little bit in terms of when you start, when you finish. And with our yearly, for level three, thinking through what that looks like for them. A couple of other questions. What’s the difference between this program and say, a therapeutic program? So somatic therapy. Great. There’s normally another question that comes up. Why this program? I’ve had a few people just ask right out, why would you suggest this over anything else? And then everything else is just like the stuff that’s on the website, investment, all that stuff. So.
Ani
Yeah, and I know this is really obvious, but I’m gonna say that anyway. Lynn’s a grad. Right. So sometimes when you get on the phone with somebody from a company, they haven’t been through, a lot of times actually, they haven’t…
Brian
They’re just a salesperson.
Ani
Yeah. And. And Lynn’s a grad on purpose. And so we do have people who contact us who say, I want to talk to a grad. And we say, fantastic, because guess who you’re going to talk to? And also, Lynn does our open houses and information sessions. So when you come to one of those, it’s not a personalized call with Lynn, but she’s still there and she’s a grad. So Lynn has full carte blanche or whatever it’s called to like, speak to her own experience around it as well, which I think is really important because so often the person who you’re talking to hasn’t actually experienced the work.
Brian
Yeah. And also I will say too, Lynn, if I’m correct, you’ve been through all, if not the majority of the graduate courses that we run too, you know. Right. All of them. So that’s the other thing I really appreciate about you, Lynn, and is why I think that you’re so, so valuable to people to just have a call with you is because you always say yes to the opportunities for growth and your own awareness and your own understanding, and you just jump right in and you say yes to those opportunities. And you’ve learned and grown so much because of that. And just having a call with you, a program advisory call, people can gain so much from just being in that relationship with you.
Ani
And you’re actually working. And the majority, I mean, a lot of our graduates are actually doing this work. The percentage of graduates who actually take this work and actually do something with it is so good. And not everybody does. And so you are actually seeing clients. Would you tell us a little bit about, like, do you use the stuff that you learned with us a lot, a little bit medium in the work with your clients?
Lynn
I use it a lot. I’m in tech and T is basically what I call it. So technology space. That’s a lot. That’s a loaded word for some people. It can trigger fear, it can trigger shutdown. Right. The S that we always talk about. And so I use it in that space to be able to help people just back away from the technology itself. And let’s talk about what you’re trying to have an experience for your clients. And so I can use these tools as we’re talking through that, they get to a place where I’m like, oh, they just shut down on me. I can pull out some of these tools and be able to help them get through it so that we can keep going. Right. Because it’s not necessarily about me. They’re trying to make an impact. And this technology strategy, what’s the big vision? Stuff can get scary for people. And so I use it in that way. Yeah.
Ani
Yeah.
Lynn
Mainly. Yeah.
Ani
Lynn’s actually using these techniques, too. And so that’s another thing you can talk to her about is what it looks like to actually use this stuff in your business.
Brian
Yeah.
Ani
With clients.
Brian
Yeah. So maybe just. Can we just, maybe just touch on those two of those frequently asked questions that Lynn just so people kind of have it here. And also, I just want to let you know, too, in an upcoming podcast, very soon, I think next week actually, we’re going to be recording a deep dive into the program itself and all the deliverables around it and those sorts of things. So we’re going to be answering a lot more questions next week coming up. But as far as those two questions that Lynn asked about what do I get out of the program? And what’s the difference between a program like this and a somatic therapy program? If you might catch the first one, I’ll catch the second one.
Ani
That’s so funny, because I was going to say I’ll take the second one first, but there’s so much to say about what goes into the program, and there’s a lot for you to look at on the webpage even before you get into a call with Lynn, because you should look at all of the program pages, and then on the program pages, there’s syllabus, syllabi. So look at all the syllabi because they’re actually quite comprehensive and you’re going to get a lot of information there. Also, if you’re not in our library, you want to get in our library and check out a bunch of the stuff in the library. But one of the things in particular I want you to see is the decision packs page. And right now, and probably for a very long time, it’s right in the first page of the library. As soon as you get in the library, scroll down and you’ll see it and you can check out a whole bunch of podcasts that we’ve done about the things that go on in the program. And you’re going to get PDFs about things that you see in the program.
Ani
So you’re going to get a really good sense of the things we do in there by looking at all of those resources I just mentioned.
Brian
And I would just kind of build on that just a bit. So graduates that have come out of the program, we have had rehab professionals come out of the program, like physical therapists and occupational therapists who are taking these somatic coaching skills and tools and, you know, the sensation based motivation coaching practices, the learning, and bring them right into their practice, like right into their physical therapy practice, right into their occupational therapy practice.
Ani
Immediately.
Brian
Immediately. Working with people in their rehabilitative practices with people doing that.
Ani
In hospital settings and other settings where they’re employees and to start their own practice and in their own practices. Correct.
Brian
We also have graduates like Lynn who have either been in corporate, have come out of corporate, gone back into corporate, other professional who are taking these tools back into their executive coaching practices, their consulting practices, teachers. Yeah, those kinds of things.
Ani
And again, doing that as an employee and taking that into their own business.
Brian
Right. Yeah. So we’ve proven from our graduate track record, the seamless transition of taking what you’re learning at the Somatic Coaching Academy into actual work in the world.
Ani
The very first thing that you do in the Level 3 program, because I’m doing it tomorrow with our new Level 3 grads, is sit in a bonus session and talk about how you’re going to take the work into the world before you even start anything with your level three program. Now in your level one and level two program, it’s a part of the conversation throughout the levels. But that Level 3 program, we do it before we do anything else. This is really important part to integrate.
Brian
Yeah, absolutely. And then it’s okay if we just speak to that.
Ani
Yeah.
Brian
So we’ve done other podcasts on the coaching versus therapy models. So there’s other podcasts on that. When, when you kind of asked that question or said that was a frequently asked question, Lynn, what kind of occurred to me is, you know, if I were to just boil it down really, really quickly, why would someone choose a somatic therapy program as in contrast to a somatic coaching program? Right. There’s all kinds of differences about therapeutics and coaching. But what I just like to remind people is when someone’s in a therapy program, somatic therapy program that’s great for people who want to work with people with a primary diagnosis. Like, you know, people go to see therapists because they’re dealing with anxiety. Like, I have anxiety, I have depression, I have fatigue, I have frustration, I have anger, I have something. And in a somatic therapeutic model, you’re primarily working with the person’s emotional distress. Now, in a somatic coaching model, because it’s a coaching model, you’re working and helping people achieve something different. Right. I want to create a new life. I want to have a different relationship. I want to have different health. I want to have a new job.
Brian
I want to. Whatever it is, I want to have… So you’re coming out from a different perspective. You’re not dealing with the problem. What you’re doing is you’re focusing on where you want to go. Now in that process, oftentimes, anger, depression, frustration come up as a barrier to creating those things in your life. And that’s where, as a somatic coaching professional, you’re really geared to help people get and move towards what it is they want to create. At the same time, deal with the anxiety, the depression, the frustration that gets in the way of having that. But we’re not getting mired down in the therapeutic treatment of a primary diagnosis.
Ani
The primary reason for doing it.
Brian
Exactly.
Ani
The primary reason is to help people to achieve what they want to create in their lives.
Brian
Yeah, exactly. So that’s the difference between. That’s how I kind of think about the difference. Well, do I want to do somatic therapy program or somatic coaching program? My question is, well, do you want to deal with people’s primary diagnoses or do you want to help people create change in their life?
Ani
I tell you, if you’re listening to this episode and you’re like, I hear you, and I’m still not sure you definitely want to get on the phone with Lynn, because Lynn’s going to help you to be able to nut that out and nut out the differences. So that again, her job is to make sure that the right people are matched in this program. She’s been through it. She knows. And she’s going to be able to help you, you know, ask you questions and help you to discover that. So you definitely want to have a call with her. I think there’s one more thing I want to say too, about this. We know that you can’t get on the phone with somebody from all of the somatic coaching certification programs. There are other programs where you can’t get somebody on the phone. And that’s a real thing that matters so much to us that you get to talk to somebody. So take advantage of it, even if you’re a little nervous about getting on the call, it’s no pressure. You’re going to get off and be like, that was so much fun and I’m so glad I got to meet somebody cool.
Ani
Lynn Bonner. But it’s a, it’s a benefit actually of being in the Somatic Coaching Academy community, which you are if you’re considering our program.
Brian
So take advantage of it for sure. All right, Lynn, one last question.
Ani
Oh.
Brian
If you were having a conversation with you before you join the program, what would you tell yourself?
Lynn
Just do it. Real simple. Just do it. Like there’s not a… Just do it. I’ll probably let me like 30 minutes.
Ani
Do you think you would have been like, no, I don’t know, I’m confused. Or would you just been like, all right, let’s go, lady.
Lynn
If I go back to that time, the fear in me would have had me asking a bunch of questions. That’s my defense mechanism. Why would you do that? How long would it take? It’s always time. Anything. It’s always like, I don’t have enough time. Which at that time I didn’t feel like I had time, but yet I finished the program. Right.
Ani
I remember that. Actually, now that you say that, I remember that was a big thing when you first got in the program. I don’t have enough time. I don’t have of time.
Lynn
I can barely cook. I can’t eat. I can’t exercise. I can’t. And it’s like. But you figure it out. And I think that would be what I would tell myself. You’ve had years of always figuring it out. This time I’m asking you to figure it out for you, which is going to be a part of you impacting others. So just do it.
Ani
It’s so much fun to get some time to chat with you, Lynn. We don’t get enough time to just have a fun conversation. So thank you much, so, so much for being here with us today. It was great to talk to you.
Brian
Yeah, thanks so much. Lynn would love, love, love spending time with you.
Lynn
Awesome. Thank you both. I love my time here and of course, loving to get to see you both. So thank you. Yeah.
Brian
So you get to spend some extra time with Lynn Bonner, the amazing Lynn Bonner yourself, by getting on a program advisory call. Have Lynn help you map out your learning journey, get a bunch of information, and how often do you actually just get to spend a little time with an amazing human being nowadays?
Ani
Yeah. And get some clarity on your own life. So, hey, that sounds like a good deal. Thanks so much for joining us today, and we will see you next time.
Lynn
Bye. Bye.
Ani
Bye. Bye.
