Trauma-Informed Coaching with the Somatic Coaching Academy
Learn about trauma-informed coaching and meet the founders and team behind the mission
Trauma-informed coaching strategies have always worked… but now the world is paying attention.
The Somatic Coaching Academy began as a private holistic rehabilitation practice that helped clients who suffered from chronic pain and stress. The trauma-informed strategies that worked back then still work today – but now the world is paying attention.
Known in their town as the “people to come to when no one else could figure out what was wrong,” the founders of the Somatic Coaching Academy, Brian Trzaskos (physical therapist) and Ani Anderson (occupational therapist) were some of the first rehabilitation professionals to leave the confines of the western medical system in pursuit of creating fully holistic private practice. Instinctually using what is now known today as trauma-informed practices, Brian and Ani put the choice and empowerment of their clients at the center of their healing practice.
Unlike other “expert based” rehab which focused on the client having a problem that needed to be fixed, Brian and Ani focused on how the client experiencing pain, stress and anxiety were not “broken”, but rather their issue was helping to create wholeness to an imbalance of the body, mind and emotions.
After continued success locally, branching out regionally, and eventually globally, Ani and Brian found over a decade ago what they continue to find today- it’s trauma-informed coaching solutions that get the best results. Whether you’re a coach or a therapist, the holistic and compassionate philosophy of trauma-informed somatic coaching practices are the skills that allow practitioners to get predictable outcomes with 100% of the people they serve.
