Brian
Hi and welcome to the Somatic Coaching Academy podcast. Here we are for episode 128. Ani, how are you today?

Ani
Good. I’m enjoying this finally springtime weather that we’re having up here in the Adirondack Mountains.

Brian
Coming slow always.

Ani
Does you think it’s spring, Spring, like in, you know, March or something? It gets a little warm and. Yeah, I mean, winter so long we get fake spring Here on the Internet they call it the spring of deception. I love that.

Brian
Yeah, funny. And then the frogs start to come out and then they get all frozen. Yeah, we have frozen pops, frog pops out there because they first start to get people frozen, you know, kind of thing. All right.

Ani
It’s just so nice to see things coming alive and I’m soaking it in.

Brian
Yep. All right, cool.

Ani
How are you? Did I ask?

Brian
You answered. Well, so here we are. So this week on the podcast, we are talking about the top five ways to accelerate your prosperity. And okay, just to let you know, we actually have a whole list of ways here in front of us, but we’re only going to pick five.

Ani
We could do this for a very long time. But hey, Brian, before we get started, I think it might be good to talk about what prosperity is, because I think it’s one of those words that gets tossed around that maybe we don’t know what it means and perhaps to the difference between abundance and prosperity, because I think those things can be used interchangeably sometimes.

Brian
Sure.

Ani
Just so we can all be on the same page with what we’re talking about.

Brian
Sure. Well, I looked up the definition. Believe it or not, prosperity. I don’t have it written down in front of me, though, so I’m going

Ani
from memory here out of here.

Brian
This might not be perfectly accurate, but here’s the idea. Prosperity, from my recollection, is a condition of thriving, especially as it concerns finances. There was one more part to it. Good fortune was something about creating good fortune. Those were the two parts of the Oxford Language Dictionary.

Ani
Thriving. Good fortune. Something about money.

Brian
Yep. Something about. Yeah, thriving. Especially in the area. It didn’t say solely in the area. Said especially in the area of finances.

Ani
Right.

Brian
Yeah.

Ani
Okay. Yeah. Because wealth, for me, is a little bit, like, easier to conceptualize than prosperity, because, like I said, I think different people use it to mean different things. So what about abundance?

Brian
So this is the way I think about abundance and prosperity from a. Through, Like a universal lens. I think about abundance as being everywhere. So if you look out in nature, there’s an abundance of. Well, where we live, there’s an abundance of trees. There’s an abundance of squirrels. Oh, my gosh. Like, we have so many squirrels. We need to do something about this squirrel issue. Well, because we have an abundance of squirrels, we have an abundance of ticks. Because squirrels are a big tick vector. They carry these ticks around, and that’s a problem. So we have abundance of squirrels, we have abundance of ticks. We have abundance of birds coming to the bird feeder. Right. We have abundance of trees. We have abundance. It’s like, there’s a lot of abundance around us. There’s an abundance of sky. If you look up in the sky,

Ani
and there’s abundance everywhere. To your point. Point. I mean, we’re talking about natural stuff because we live in the woods, but there’s. There’s always abundance.

Brian
Abundance is a.

Ani
It’s a lot.

Brian
No matter.

Ani
Like, a lot of stuff.

Brian
Right. No matter what you’re assigning the element of abundance to. Like, you could be in a city and there could be an abundance of concrete. There could be an abundance of cars. But abundance is a thing. So abundance means that there’s plenty of. There’s plenty of stuff in the universe that. To create from. Even if you think about the invisible stuff in the universe where things are created from, there’s an abundant field of potential energy that’s just waiting to come into physical manifestation.

Ani
Right. And you could have an abundance and not have thriving.

Brian
Correct.

Ani
AKA prosperity.

Brian
Because abundance is kind of.

Ani
Abundance is everywhere.

Brian
Abundance is everywhere. Abundance. You can think about it as being the potential that’s everywhere.

Ani
Yeah.

Brian
Now I think about prosperity as for focusing that abundance into a particular area in your. In your life. So actually, I’m looking at our lake outside. So we have a. We live on Lake Champlain. I can see the lake right through the window right there. And so there’s an abundance of water out there. But if I. If I needed that water to drink, the. The water could be there. Right. But I’m not quenching my thirst. With it being over there, I have to find some way to direct it to me sort of thing.

Ani
You’re gonna sit here and meditate and.

Brian
Well, no. What if I built. If I built like a sluice or something like that. If I what? A sluice? Like a channel. But I built a channel.

Ani
Dr. Seuss.

Brian
Dr. Seuss. To drain the water. To me, that’s how I think about prosperity. So when you. When you have abundance and you do things to channel that abundance into specific areas in your life, then that creates prosperity in specific areas, because the abundance is always there. But it doesn’t mean that you’re channeling or accessing that abundance. You have to tap into the abundance in order to create something. And so for me, the idea of prosperity is evidence of a person tapping into the abundance and then channeling that abundance into some form in their life. And then that form shows up as prosperity. So it could be prosperous money. It could be prosperous and health. Right. Isn’t the New Year blessing. Isn’t a prosperous and healthy New Year. Right. So there’s kind of the whole idea.

Ani
Chinese New Year.

Brian
No, regular. Well, there’s a New Year saying. Yeah. Have a prosperous and healthy New Year. Maybe it’s a Chinese. I’m not sure. But that’s a saying. Absolutely.

Ani
New Year. I don’t know. I’m trying to.

Brian
Like a healthy and prosperous New Year. Okay. Oh, you know, we used to do that when I was a kid, and we would. We had crack the Apotheke at our Christmas dinner. That was a saying we’d say to each other. Yeah, It’s a whole thing.

Ani
All kinds of words.

Brian
It’s a Polish. It’s a Polish tradition.

Ani
Okay.

Brian
It’s a Polish tradition. And you would kind of crack a little host that was blessed by the priest. And you go around and you take each other’s host and you wish them a blessing for the New Year sort of thing. It’s a Polish. A Polish thing. So all you Polish fans out there, like, you’re like, man, I haven’t heard that in so long with your physic. Awesome. Okay. I just went down memory lane there. Okay.

Ani
Prosperity. Prosperity equals prosperity.

Brian
Channeling abundance into prosperity. I’ll be quiet now. You take it away, honey.

Ani
I really. Before you went off on the rabbit hole, which was very cute, by the way, but definitely unrelatable to my experience growing up. I really like how you’re thinking about it, this idea of channeling abundance, because one of the, like, magic tricks that we could pull in any kind of session is to have people in front of us and show them where their abundance is. It’s just so it’s. But it’s kind of like a magic trick. But it’s, It’s. We could do it with anybody anywhere. Like, we could show you where your abundance is.

Brian
Boom.

Ani
It’s like a pulling the white rabbit out of the hat. But. But to actually have that turn into prosperity does require this idea of channeling it. So I think that’s with these top five things to accelerate your prosperity. Actually, that’s kind of what we’re starting to hone in on, is how to channel that abundance. That’s everywhere.

Brian
Yep. Yeah. So we’ve got more than five, but we’re just going to pick five.

Ani
What do you want to start with?

Brian
I think one of my top ones from the list that we’ve generated, I think they’re all great, by the way, the whole list that both of us came up with. But my top one is you have to be able to manage your energy. That’s really, really important. And we say manage your energy. What do we mean by that? I don’t just mean that during the day you’re pushing really, really hard and then to the point where you’re exhausted, but you have enough energy the next day to push really, really hard. And. And then you’re really exhausted and you keep pushing through. You’re not going to have sleep, but you keep working. You’re really frustrated, but you keep working. And that’s not what. That’s not managing your energy. So when we talk managing energy, I’m talking about managing life force energy. Managing the life force energy, the energy that animates all things in some way. It’s very akin to the idea of abundance.

Ani
Well, I was just thinking, like, what you’re saying, managing your energy is actually channeling abundance.

Brian
Exactly.

Ani
It’s a. The same thing.

Brian
It’s basically the same thing. Because life force energy is abundant. Right. The force that animates all living things is abundant.

Ani
It’s like everywhere or thing of abundance. Right.

Brian
It’s a core part of it. And that’s why I say that’s, for me, that’s the number 1 1. So you have to really be able to, first of all, have enough energy, gather enough energy on a regular basis. And there’s ways that we, you know, work with our clients and our students in order to do that so you have enough energy. The next thing you need to do is circulate that energy through your physical body, through your energy body, not have it get stuck.

Ani
Not have it get stuck and stagnant on limiting beliefs and difficult emotions and things like that.

Brian
Yeah. And also not let it leak out.

Ani
Not let it leak. Are you a leaker?

Brian
Yeah. You want to leak?

Ani
Be honest with yourself.

Brian
Stagnating energy like this is all ganogists in the study of energy management. And then you need to be able to direct the energy coming back to. The idea of prosperity is really about focusing or directing abundance. Once you have enough life force energy and once you know how to circulate life force energy in your life unencumbered, then you can learn the ability to direct that energy into specific places in your life that will create more prosperity in those areas of your life. So for me, that idea of managing your life force energy is the most important one.

Ani
I think I agree with you.

Brian
Cool.

Ani
Yeah.

Brian
All right. What about you?

Ani
I definitely agree with that. It’s the base of it all. So the idea of becoming larger in your current space than trying to get out of your current space I think is a big tool to accelerate prosperity. So for example, if you’re in a job that you don’t like and you want to get out of your job, one of the things that, I mean, people ask this question all the time. They want to know like when they should leave the thing that’s bothering them. The best way. The best way and when is when you have outgrown your current space. And when you leave, it’s just natural. It’s not like a breaking of something, it’s an evolution of something and it’s very different. So I think that that’s a real prosperity accelerator because it’s something that you can do right now, any moment is you can become even better in your current space. And the challenge, and I think the belief is that if I don’t make a move, then I’m not.

Brian
I’m.

Ani
That. That seems like it’s the thing to accelerate the prosperity is actually to get out. When paradoxically, the way to accelerate prosperity is to make yourself bigger in your current space. Bigger and better in your current space. Yeah.

Brian
To expand beyond the what the current space is requiring or asking of you. Right. To build your capacity past it.

Ani
Yeah.

Brian
You know, I’ve had some interesting experiences working with clients who are doing just that and where you had just mentioned that it doesn’t feel like a breaking for some people though. It. It feels very antagonistic from the other people in the organization when you’re becoming bigger than your current space.

Ani
Oh, it can be threatening to other people.

Brian
It can be threatening to leaders in those spaces. It can be threatening to colleagues in

Ani
those spaces fired from a job because of that. But I’ll tell you, I wanted to leave that job for a long time for, I don’t know, maybe two years. And I. I didn’t leave. And I mean, I didn’t leave at that time because I was 23 and scared and didn’t know better. So. And I decided to stay and become even better where I was. And then that started to become threatening to other people. But when I got fired, it was kind of. It was actually a very big shock because I was like, hey, guys, like, I’m doing awesome. This is awesome. We’re getting along us. Like, everything is awesome. But I got fired because my boss was threatened by the expansion.

Brian
Yeah. Yeah. And so that can. That can happen in. That’s a real thing. That can happen. So as you’re listening to this, it

Ani
was a gift for me.

Brian
If you’re expanding beyond your current place, but you’re getting pushback from people in the organization, it doesn’t mean, again, that you’re doing something wrong.

Ani
Yeah.

Brian
Or that is bad. To expand beyond your current space, you have to really kind of understand how the laws work. I was fortunate enough of the. Of the four kind of jobs that I had before I. From four professional jobs that I had before I started my own practice, only one of them I had that situation occur in. That’s where I was growing beyond my personal space. It was very antagonistic, very difficult. Very, very, very hard. I was forced out to leave all the other places as I was growing. They were like, wow, Brian, it’s time for you to move. Time for you to go. We celebrate that.

Ani
Right.

Brian
You’re like, you’re ready to kind of launch. And I have, you know, I still hold them in my heart as being warm places.

Ani
Yeah.

Brian
That a part of my experience sort of thing.

Ani
Yeah.

Brian
So I just want to kind of lay that out there. That’s a really important principle for sure. And sometimes people around you will push back on that.

Ani
Yeah. So that’s a prosperity accelerator, even though it seems paradoxical, like, what do you mean? I’ve got to stay here in order to increase my prosperity? Shouldn’t I leave and go in a different direction?

Brian
Yeah. But to your point, Ani, that the universe actually will offer you a ramp, a place to grow into when you outgrow your current place. And then that becomes a very natural transition for people. So it’s all of a sudden, like, an opportunity shows up and you’re like, oh, here’s another opportunity to move. And then it seems very clear because you’ve expanded beyond your current space.

Ani
Yeah, you were kind of like that for me.

Brian
I expanded beyond your current space.

Ani
No, when I got together with you, you’re kind of like an off ramp. Oh, it’s a good expansion.

Brian
That’s good.

Ani
Next.

Brian
Glad you were able to step up to that level. All right. Okay. Next thing. So another one that I think’s a really important. And I’m going to say it before you do, because I think you’re going to pick it. Oh, so you. I time that out. Like, this is like tic tac toe. Like, want to get the right order. So mine is stop making decisions based on what you currently have and start making them based on what you can create or manifest from the decision.

Ani
Do like that.

Brian
Such a good one. So think about this accelerating principle for prosperity. So often we make decisions based on what we currently have. Like, in other words, there’s an opportunity to channel our energy, our creativity, our gifts, or whatever it is into a certain area. But it costs a certain amount of money. Let’s just make it very clear. Let’s say the opportunity, the investment costs certain amount of money. And let’s say it costs, I don’t know, $20,000, but you only have $5,000 in the bank. And people make decisions based on what they currently have. They say, wow, I would love to do that. That’s exactly what I want to do. That’s where I want to grow. That’s where my gift wants to lead me. But I only have $5,000 in the bank. So I’m going to make a decision based on what I currently have. And the decision is, no, I’m not going to do it. So that will not accelerate prosperity.

Ani
No, it keeps you the same people,

Brian
keep you actually the same. And it actually might cause you to actually revert deeper into a limiting belief.

Ani
Right. Because it starts to confirm for the subconscious that it needs to stay the same.

Brian
Correct? Yeah, correct. Whereas if you said, okay, I am going to make a decision that I can create, manifest, acquire, channel the resources I need to grow in that direction, that’s a very prosperous decision to say, listen, at the moment, I don’t have the $15,000, but I know that if I commit to saying this is the direction I want to go, because I know this is the direction my prosperity is in. This is how I know I’m going to channel abundance this way. This is what I know I’ve been wanting to do. I know I will be able to then gather those resources. And we’ve seen people do this time and time again when they’ve chosen to do it, to find, acquire, channel the resources after. After they make the decision.

Ani
After they make the decision. Another way to think about this to Brian is stop making decisions from lack. So stopping decisions from what you currently have, another way to think about it is like making a decision about what you want based on what you have that you don’t like.

Brian
Say it again.

Ani
Making a decision about where you’re going to go next or what you want based on what you have that you don’t like.

Brian
Oh, got you. Yeah.

Ani
Right. So prosperity, Prosperity accelerator tip is actually to make a decision based on what you want, not on what you don’t have, which is saying what you were saying. It just kind of puts a different spin on it or whatever. Also stop making decisions from what you currently have, which for some people is that lack idea. Speaking of lack, can I bring up another one?

Brian
Yes. Ready for our third? Our third tip or is this like a two?

Ani
A no, three. A. No, it’s three. Two, three.

Brian
This is four.

Ani
No, it’s three. Oh my gosh. I don’t know. You’re confusing me. Keeping track. It’s another one.

Brian
Okay, another one. Gotcha.

Ani
Prosperity acceleration tip is really being in the flow of reciprocity and mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships. Now when you hear me say that, you might think, well, I gotta get rid of everybody I currently know and get new people in my life. And that’s not what I’m talking about. It’s a way of seeing prosperity. I could talk about this for a whole podcast, Brian. So with clients that I’ve worked with, one of the things that can really come up for people is how hard they’re working and other people are getting ahead so much faster. And yet these folks also are not willing to really. And I get it, I’ve been there too, ask people to work with them. They’re not really willing to reach out to their community and, you know, see if there’s mutually beneficial ways to move forward with partnerships. They’re not willing to just have this kind of flow around reciprocity. There’s all of these hang ups around, like me and what I’m doing and what you’re doing or not doing. And. And rather than. And this really is like a frequency change kind of thing. But being able to be in the flow of reciprocity, being in the flow of a partnership where both people can win and both people can be Looking forward in a common direction.

Ani
And it doesn’t have to be a push pull. When clients get in alignment with the flow of reciprocity, there can be when they can release a bunch of beliefs and attachments and stuff, just this real ease around prosperity that like, basically it’s just gets to be this really fun creative process.

Brian
Yeah, yeah. As we were talking about this last night, we had a really dynamic conversation about it. This particular, this particular tip on prosperity acceleration. And one of the things we were talking about in terms of tactically how that might look in partnerships, not like a personal partnership, let’s say business, like a business aligned partnerships, affiliate partnerships and those kinds of things. How important it is to basically kind of go, quote, unquote, go first or give first and be the person who says, listen, it’s important to me that I help you succeed as like in other words, help the partner succeed. And so what can I do to help you succeed? And this is what I’m going to do. And you really kind of lead the energetic charge for creating the mutuality, the mutual abundance to kind of occur. And for every successful partnership that we’ve created with our affiliate businesses that we work with, like, that’s kind of have. Has been our motto of like, we want to help them succeed. How can we do that? How can we use our gifts, our skills, our knowledge, our wisdom, our experience to help them get more of what they want and really, really lead that

Ani
way and unattached to what’s going to come back, knowing that it’s going to come back for us. And we’re also not afraid to ask for whether, you know, it’s, it’s money or exposure, things that are going to lead to more credibility or whatever, like mutually beneficial partnerships. We’re not afraid to ask for that, but also not being attached to it because knowing that whether it’s going to come through this relationship or it’s going to come through another relationship, we know it’s going to come.

Brian
Yeah. Because a little, I think a little thing that we can become confused by as business people and entrepreneurs is, is the kind of the business idea that you want to try to get more than you’re giving. Right. I mean, it’s like we want to just get more than we’re giving. If you look at kind of quote unquote successful people in business, oftentimes you’ll see people get ahead in business who are basically getting more than they’re giving. But believe it or not, that is not a prosperity accelerator.

Ani
Well, and then people would say well, gosh, I’ve got to give more than I get. Okay, I get that. But I am giving all the time. And so I hear you. And you’ve got to be willing to ask for reciprocity, too. And you’ve got to be able to take a stand because. And when I say that, this is so nuanced. And again, I wish we were talking about it for a whole entire podcast. Maybe we will someday. But when you change something in yourself or when there’s a change in a dynamic in a relationship, there is going to be resistance that comes up because it’s a part of the process. And so navigating resistance gracefully and skillfully is a skill. And you get to learn more about how to do that every time you step up in a win win kind of way. When you take a stand for a win win, then you get to entertain. Like, how could I really have this standard for myself and us and allow more grace here for the fact that there’s probably some resistance? That’s Gonn and he navigated differently.

Brian
Yeah, yeah. And it’s really about being in that flow of giving and receiving. An equitable flow of giving and receiving.

Ani
Yeah. And allowing it to happen.

Brian
Allowing it to happen. And also being aware of all the forms in which the. The giving, but especially the receiving occurs, because oftentimes we as being on the mutual beneficial receiving part of that relationship, we become very fixated on how we want that receiving to show up. And when we don’t see it showing up potentially that way, then it creates resentment and challenge and we shut down prosperity flow. So we actually have to be able to open our perceptual lens up to all the ways that prosperity is flowing back to us in rhythm and cycle with our giving.

Ani
100%.

Brian
You’re right. This would be great for a whole podcast. And we do a lot of just mindset work with people around that particular thing alone.

Ani
Just that thing.

Brian
Just becoming aware of all the places that they are actually receiving that they’re not aware of receiving because they’re so attached to coming back in one form or another. Yep.

Ani
And being able to transmute that into form if they want. Yep. Yeah.

Brian
Okay, so. All right, so we have one more. So the if. Yeah, this is it. We did four so far. This is five.

Ani
Okay. Can I go?

Brian
This is what we promised I want, so I’m gonna give you.

Ani
Wait a minute. I think that was. I think that was three.

Brian
No, that was four. Damn.

Ani
Okay. I really want to do this one.

Brian
Okay, do this one.

Ani
Safety in a person’s body. It’s important to me. Okay, so a prosperity accelerator is creating safety in your body. Because from my experience with working with individuals over the years, you’re either a person who’s programmed with enough safety in your body to be able to have the success that you want, or you’re a person who’s not programmed with enough safety in your body to be able to have the success that you want. And there’s all of this stuff out there in, you know, that you see talking about, you know, pushing through and going hard and all of that stuff that relates to. I’ve even heard people say that adults don’t need safety. I’ve heard that too, plenty of times. But it’s actually not true physiologically. Physiologically we do actually need safety in our body. Now, perceptually creating safety is really quite a thing to learn about because we create unsafety for ourselves perceptually all the time, you know, subconsciously, and so becoming aware of where we’re doing that. But back to this. You know, how do I accelerate prosperity if, if you have any tethers too, and I think a lot of people do not safety, then that’s a cornerstone thing.

Ani
So if you have had any kind of trauma or abuse in your history, if you’ve been raised by people who have trauma abuse in their history, if you are a person who has a less privileged background in some way, those are all kinds of things that probably point to the fact that, that you, if you haven’t done this already, need to create safety in your body. I mean, I’ve got broad. I’ve worked with people who are so successful, who have had really successful careers, who have made lots of money, who have had lots of accolades and stuff, and then they go off to start their own thing and they’re so stymied. Why. Why they can’t move forward faster. And no one’s ever talked about this and they have some kind of thing in their subconscious around the fact that don’t completely feel safe. And as soon as we start to tackle that, things start to shift.

Brian
Yeah. Just to go back a little bit to what you’re saying, I. I believe that adults do need safety to your point, because all. Which is what you said too, which is because all organism need safety. And that the difference between adults and kids is that kids can’t create their own safety. Where adults can learn to create their own safety.

Ani
Right.

Brian
And. And how important that. How important that is.

Ani
Yeah. And adults are trying to create their own safety based on their conditioning as children there.

Brian
Yep.

Ani
Right. So that’s where it starts to get wonky. But yeah, and what a world. I mean, what a prosperous, abundant world to live in where we all feel safe. I mean, that’s one of the things that we really believe as a tenant to be able to express. So our mission at Somatic Coaching Academy is really for people to be able to express their themselves fully in the world. Have the freedom to express themselves. And until everybody’s safe, you know, not everybody’s going to be able to do that.

Brian
Yeah, yeah.

Ani
So it’s really important to us.

Brian
Yeah. So. So there you go. So you have five ways to accelerate your prosperity. If you want to know more ways, then, you know, hang around, come back, send us an email, check us out, look at our stuff, because we’ll be sharing some more ways upcoming. Sometime in the future, come to a

Ani
webinar, come to a program. Yeah, it sounds like we’ve got a part two in the making too. All right, have a wonderful week.

Brian
We’ll see you next week and hope it’s prosperous.

Ani
That too.

Brian
Bye Bye.
